About me
I'm Christina Kartali. I am a 19 year old student, studying Law at Oxford University. I am of Greek and Kurdish descent but partly grew-up in Australia. I create visual art in my spare time and upload it to this blog.
About this blog
I have struggled to find a space where my art can be displayed, seen and commented on. In part, this has to do with not studying in Art School. Beyond this, I would not categorise my pieces as ‘feel good’ art, which can easily be displayed in people’s living rooms. A blog allows me to display an online portfolio without having to conform to the expectations and aesthetic needs associated with particular exhibition spaces. The title,
Almost Aesthetic, emphasises my pieces’ non-decorative nature. My art is my form of self-expression. It is not commercial. It is not living-room art.
